In a 3D sketch, the only way to pan is to move the origin point, and zooming is only relative to the origin, it does not move the origin. Hence it is impossible to move the origin off screen and then get it back (as there is no longer any way to grab it). Therefore, it could be hard to examine part of an intricate construction far from the origin.

Also, right-drag can yaw and pitch the perspective, but there is no way to roll it.
